I love this time of year when the rapeseed blooms and the train weaves through the downlands blanketed with a patchwork of bright yellow and green.
Something very nice about having a pizza named after one of my favourite places in the world, Byron Bay. A great dinner with Helena and my mum at the new Fire and Stone in Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth. Great new venue and a modern feel. The Byron Bay has basil pesto, sliced field mushrooms, cumin roasted sweet potato, cherry vine tomatoes, mozzarella, green olives, topped with crushed macadamia nuts. Though I swapped out the green olives for black. My mum had the Cairo: fire roasted red & yellow peppers, courgettes, aubergines, balsamic roasted red onions, mozzarella and Fire & Stone’s tomato sauce topped with crumbled goat’s cheese & pine nuts. Helena had a plain Margherita pizza.
